The vision of the Miami Douglas MacArthur Senior High School North administrative team seeks to establish an alternative education program that can serve as a model throughout the United States.  Both practical and innovative instructional deliveries will be the emphasis driving the ultimate pursuit of our school's mission.  Innovative instructional programs will be introduced to provide students with specific reading and math enhancement strategies that will ultimately increase our students'  FCAT preparedness.  Additional emphasis will focus on a newly adopted school wide program entitled, "Students Taking Alternative Routes to Success-Stars."  This program will reform student mind-sets through the proactive approach of making students active proponents involved on the team rather than disruptive opponents against the team.  Every student at MacArthur North will participate in at least one extra-curricular activity.  The belief is that when students are affiliated through active association, they are more likely to contribute in a positive manner.  In addition, an increased emphasis will be placed on the implementation of certification/licensure track vocational programs such as (Barbering-new, Cosmetology-new, Manicure/Pedicure-new, Facials-new, Auto Mechanics, Culinary Arts, and Construction programs).  Therefore, as a result of the adaptation of these initiatives we strongly believe that Miami Douglas MacArthur Senior High School North can be a trendsetter throughout our school district and United States in the area of alternative education.
